Literature Essay

      Young Adult books have been containing dark pieces of information. Some people think YA books are good for kids and some people think YA books are bad. A lot of books have been banned because of the reviews on the book. According to Meghan Cox Gurdon, she doesn't think YA books are a dark literature for children to read. Many people, would strongly disagree with that opinion.

      The author of  "Has young adult fiction become too dark?" doesnt really have a side that it takes. But according to Meghan Cox Gurdon, she states "kidnapping and pederasty and incest and brutal beatings are now just part of the run of things in novels directed, broadly speaking, at children from the ages of 12 to 18." Meghan Cox Gurdon thinks that books that include dark details, can help children with children with their childhood, so they know what to do in life. She doesn't think that it will influence them. In my opinion, I think YA books are bad for children. It includes pornography and violence, that children shouldn't learn. Some kids aren't as mature as other kids.

     In conclusion, everyone has a different opinion on YA literature. Some people, including Meghan Cox Gurdon, don't think YA books are dark. But some people think YA books are dark.
